This bilingual booklet commemorates the “penitential pilgrimage” of Pope Francis in Canada. It contains all the speeches and homilies pronounced by the Holy Father during his Apostolic Visit. Each allocution is accompanied by a full-page photo of the event where it was given, as well as a short introduction by Archbishop Richard Smith, General Coordinator of the Papal Visit, in order to contextualize the words spoken by Pope Francis. The introduction is by Bishop Raymond Poisson, President of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops. A list of apologies delivered by Catholic Church officials in Canada concludes the book.
This booklet may be used as a souvenir, but also as a diocesan, parish or school resource to guide and enrich discussion and discernment on walking together locally with Indigenous peoples.
